The Missouri All-Stars hit the practice turf for the second straight day in Hannibal in preparations for this weekend’s showdown against the Illinois All-Stars.

Monday evening in America’s Hometown, Team Missouri held their first practice session at Veterans Field. Saturday, the team will play in the 7th Annual

Missouri-Illinois All-Star Baseball Game. Currently, Illinois holds a slight 4-2 edge in the series in the Tri-State summer showcase.

Hannibal Head Coach Ian Hatton will serve as Missouri’s top field general this year. He has close ties with the area after being raised in America’s Hometown.

Hatton couldn’t really express just how excited he was when he received the nod to serve as head coach of the Missouri All-Stars, and do it, in his own backyard.

Hatton stated, “It’s a true honor to be here in this position coaching this game. Being back in Hannibal, by hometown and getting this opportunity to coach my guys

one last time.” He went on to add, “I’m just very honored and humbled by this experience and obviously greatful that I got selected and I’m greatful to be working

with some of the greatest baseball players in the area.”

Once again, the 7th Annual Missouri-Illinois All-Star Game is set for Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 7:00 p.m at Veterans Field in Hannibal, Missouri.
