Illinois All-Stars Begin Preparations For Saturday’s Battle On The Diamond Against Missouri

With 72 hours to go before the start of the 7th Annual Missouri-Illinois All-Star Baseball Game at Veterans Field, the Illinois All-Stars were scheduled to hold their

first practice session of the week this afternoon at Pittsfield High School. PHS Head coach John Schultz will serve as field general of the Illinois squad.

Quincy Notre Dame’s Dylan Foley, Ben Whittaker, and Nick Schwartz are a part of this years All-Star team representing the “Land Of Lincoln.”

Quincy High’s Donovan Prost is also playing this weekend along with fellow Blue Devil grads Kade Zanger and Trevor Wiemelt.

Camp Point Central grads Eric Jones, Hayden Neisen, Kollen Hughes, and Lane Ippenson are also a players to watch on Saturday evening along with Unity’ Logan Voth and

Luke Jansen. Carter Boyer and Michael Lord will also be on the team representing the Chargers of Illini West.

Jadon Bryant and Trevor Tipp will represent Western/Griggsville Perry, while Bryce Bergman is the lone player on the roster from Brown County this year.

Illinois currently leads the series 4-2 over the Missouri All-Stars led by head coach Ian Hatton from Hannibal High this summer.

Just a reminder, the All-Star game is set for Veterans Field in Hannibal, Missouri on Saturday, July 13 at 7:00 P.M.
