Mark Twain Lake beaches reopen

MONROE CITY, Mo (WGEM) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake have announced that the John F. Spalding and Indian Creek Beaches reopened Friday.

The beaches had been closed due to the water elevation.

Officials stated that the beaches have been cleared of debris and safety checks have been performed.

Four lane boats are in use, with courtesy docks in at all except Ray Behrens.

Hunter/fisherman lots 11, 41, and 23 have also been reopened.

Duane Wheelan, Hunter/fisherman lots 30, 20, 53, and the trails are closed. Officials said these areas will reopen when conditions allow.
