Quincy teen avoids traffic stop, crashes vehicle off IL-96

A teenager evaded police in two Tri-State counties before crashing his vehicle in a rural area of Adams County, Illinois on Thursday night.

According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office,  the incident took place just before 10 p.m.

Deputies said Hancock County Sheriff’s Office deputies asked for help after they tried to pull the teen over for a traffic stop but he just took off and kept driving.

The 16-year old boy later crashed his 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse off the road, just south of Lima, Illinois.

The teen was taken to Blessing Hospital with minor injuries.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office crash report said the charges for the teen are pending in Hancock County.
