Much needed relief from the heat arrives

Tonight: A mid to upper level disturbance will fire off another line of storms. This will likely track south of the Tri-States in Central Missouri where the atmosphere is more unstable. Scattered rain showers with a few decent downpours this evening. Majority of the storms in the region are tracking south of I-70. Overnight temperatures in the mid 60s.

Monday: A few lingering showers will be possible in the early morning. A surface high pressure will build in and we will tap into a refreshing air mass for late July. Clouds will be clearing out throughout the day and mostly sunny by the afternoon. Highs in the low 80s with much less humidity in the air. Overnight temperatures in the upper 50s, so possibly on the cooler side Tuesday morning.

Tuesday: A cooler start. Abundant sunshine throughout the day. Highs in the lows in the upper 50s and 60s.

The week should be mainly dry and unseasonably cool! Temperatures return to average by the end of the week. Highs possibly returning to the 90s for the last weekend in July.
