‘Queer Eye’ viewing party in Downtown Quincy

The new season of the popular Netflix show ‘Queer Eye’ is out and one of the episodes features Quincy.

Sixth Street was shut down for an outdoor viewing party of that episode on Friday night.

The Quincy episode features Quincy Public Schools Music Director Kathy Dooley.

The episode features several Quincy businesses, one of which being the Sweet Apricot Shop on 6th Street.

Owner Sara Platt says it’s been almost a year since the episode filmed in the Gem City and now with it available to watch, she hopes it gives her business national exposure.

“The whole thing was super surreal,” said Platt. “I couldn’t have ever imagined that I would be put in this scenario because obviously I’ve watched the show since season one, sitting on my couch. It was totally crazy to think that now I get to be a little slice, a little part of it. I just love that Quincy gets highlighted through it.”

Platt has an online store as well and she’s hoping once people start viewing the show, she’ll see a boost in her online sales.
