Relief is Coming

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

With the jet stream up north “kind of stuck” across the US and Canadian border until Saturday, the hot airmass will be “kind of stuck” over the Tri-States. The hot temps coupled with the strong dew points will result in heat index readings; between 105 and 110 today and Saturday. Overnight temps should be quite similar to what we`re seeing this morning. With these dangerous conditions continuing through Saturday, the Excessive Heat Warning will remain in effect through Saturday.
A cold front will slide south over the area on Sunday afternoon or evening which will bring an end to the heat wave. Unfortunately
we have been unable zero in on the timing of the frontal passage. So Sunday`s highs remain a big question mark. Should the front come in on the slow side, it`s possible that we push back toward excessive heat warning criteria.
Confidence is high that we will see rain showers but confidence is low on the timing.
