TAYLOR (WGEM) — There are delays in the process to replace a closed bridge in Marion County.
Work on the Taylor Bridge in Taylor, Missouri, was set to begin in June.
But flooding in southern Missouri has slowed production for materials that will be used to construct the bridge.
Originally the new bridge was supposed to be complete by this fall but officials say it won’t be until at least the end of the year.
“Everything is good to go. All the permits are done, The bids been let. We have a contract in hand and they said no problem after we get going, we’re going to go gangbusters on it but there’s just that hold up on getting a hold of that one crucial piece of material,” said Marion County Presiding Commissioner David Lomax.
Construction is now set to begin on the $880,000 project on August 5th.
