PITTSFIELD, IL (WGEM) — The Illinois State Police (ISP) District 20 reported the arrest of two Florida males on various weapons charges.
ISP stated that on Tuesday, a trooper stopped a Florida plated passenger car for an equipment violation in Schuyler County on US 67.
The trooper detected the odor of cannabis emitting from inside the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted.
Officers located two stolen Glock 9mm pistols in the passenger compartment of the car. Both pistols were loaded and one had a drum type magazine in it capable of holding 50 rounds.
The driver, a 16 year old male, and passenger, Shea Jones, 18, both of Destin, Florida, were arrested on charges of unlawful use of weapons and possession of stolen firearms. Jones was lodged in the Schuyler county jail and the juvenile was transported to the Adams County juvenile detention center.
