ISP arrests Kansas man for meth, unlawful use of a weapon

PITTSFIELD, IL (WGEM) — Illinois State Police have arrested an Overland Park, Kansas, man for various weapons and drug related charges.

ISP has reported the arrest of Matthew Snyder, 35, on Tuesday for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a silencer, possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine and possession of a drug paraphernalia and other traffic charges.

ISP stated that a trooper stopped Snyder for a seat belt violation on Interstate 72 in Pike County. The trooper discovered that Snyder’s Kansas driver’s license was suspended and Snyder could not provide proof of insurance for the Jeep. Also, the license plate on the Jeep was registered to another vehicle.

Snyder was arrested for the traffic violations and an inventory inspection of the Jeep later uncovered suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an AR15-22 rifle with a sound suppressor threaded onto the barrel.
