The United Way of Adams County’s 2019 campaign kicked off Thursday evening.
The kickoff event took place at the Washington Theater in downtown Quincy.
This year’s campaign goal is up slightly from last year because officials said the need in the community grows every year, as well.
“The need is huge. We have 20 united way agencies that take those dollars and put the mission into action. They do that with the moneys we raise so to hit that goal, we need to hit that goal,” said 2019 campaign chair Mark Tyrpin.
The overall goal for this year’s campaign is $1.1 million. The organization has already raised about 20% of that.
