When you’re picking up Saturday’s edition of the Hannibal Courier-Post, you may notice something has changed.
Quincy Media Inc, the owners of the paper, said after their recent acquisition of the paper they wanted to give it a new , yet retro look that fit in with Hannibal. The new mast head on the paper features art of a river boat and a new font to match.
“What we wanted to do was incorporate some of the paper’s history and take a forward look on it, so we went back through some of the old papers and files and one of the images that was the most prominent over the past 20, 30 years was a steam boat image and we were actually able to find that file,” said Executive Editor of Herald-Whig Jason Lewton.
Officials with the paper said there’s many other changes coming, including a TV book, new standardized subscription rates, and free wedding, engagement, and anniversary notices.
