Construction on the new Adams County Jail is weeks behind schedule.
That’s the word from Construction Manager Sid Wilson, who says the jail is about six weeks off the mark.
He says that’s due to the complex nature of the security systems, which take a lot of time to set up.
But he says the police and sheriff’s department offices are close to being on schedule.
“HVAC, plumbing, electrical, all the division 9 components, which is all the finishes, painting, floors, you know that kind of stuff, carpentry, is all ongoing,” said Wilson.
Wilson says the county officials will need to run several scenarios on the jail system to test for glitches before moving inmates in but he expects that to happen by the end of February.
