Traffic stop results in McDonough Co. drug arrests

MACOMB (WGEM) — A traffic stop in rural McDonough County has resulted in the arrest of a man and woman for Possession of Methamphetamine.

McDonough County Sheriff Nick Petitgout has reported the arrest of Daniel Ballard, 49, and Robin Ballard, 45, both of Adair, Illinois.

Petitgout stated that deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in rural McDonough County. The vehicle was being driven by Robin and Daniel was the passenger.

During the course of the traffic stop a deputy observed a cannabis cigarette in Daniel’s hand and later located cannabis on his person. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located Methamphetamine paraphernalia containing suspect methamphetamine.

Petitgout reported that Daniel and Robin Ballard were arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine – Under 5 grams.

Both were lodged at the McDonough County Jail and later posted a cash bond.
