In Hannibal, students got a chance to meet their teachers ahead of the first day of school.
At Eugene Field Elementary, students were introduced to their teachers and were able to drop off school supplies on Tuesday.
First year principal Kelsey Whitley said it’s a good idea for parents to go over their child’s routine before the first day like knowing where the bus stop is or what the walk to school will be like.
“The school doors open at 7:30 so they can come in and eat breakfast and play on the playground and then go to see their classrooms and their teachers to start the day so I think those little things can ease the anxiety and get you ready for the first day,” said Whitley.
The first day of school is Thursday. Whitley also said make sure your kid packs his or her backpack the night before so they wake up ready to go.
