More change orders are in the works for the new Adams County Jail.
At Tuesday’s Adams County Board meeting, the subcommittee approved a change order with 14 different items, seven of which officials say are warranted and need to be done. The other seven items, officials say they will consult with their design team to see if they are necessary.
Another item discussed at the meeting was the change in timeline for the completion date, which is four to six weeks behind schedule.
“It’s a big building, a complicated building, everything has to fit together,” said Mark Peter with the Adams County Board. “You get backed up on one area, that backs you up on other areas.”
Peter says the Quincy Police Department and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office will be moving into their new location in November rather than October. The jail completion date is now late December.
