QUINCY, IL (WGEM) — Are your seasonal allergies picking back up?
Local health officials say we haven’t seen the worst of it yet. Ragweed pollen is the major culprit for allergies this time of year through early fall according to health officials.
They said on average they have seen about 2 to 3 patients a day suffering from allergies. With harvest season around the corner, officials said that number could go up.
“You’ll see an uptick through the month of September, and what not, and maybe even a little bit in October, and then you’ll kind of see it fall off,” Ayaaz Habibullah, Quincy Family Medicine SUI Resident.
Health officials add if you ignore your allergy symptoms, they could last for weeks and maybe months.
