HAMILTON, Il. – Sullivan Auctions officials said anywhere between 500 to 600 people showed up to bid on over 2,200 pieces of farming equipment at the first day of their dealer-farmer auction.

They said it’s their biggest auction ever,

Auction-goer Braxton Boyer said auctions are more than just a business opportunity.

“Kind of catch up with guys, see how stuff is selling, see how farming is going and everything, he said. “Whenever there’s a sale out here I try and come out here at least for a little bit and catch up with some of the buys I work with and do business with.”

There was also giving to go with the buying and selling.

Officials auctioned off a brand new John Deere Gator and donated all of the proceeds to Shriner Childrens Hospital, just over $17,000.
