HANNIBAL- Hundreds of people in costumes showed up for the first day of the 6th annual Big River Steampunk Festival.
The event included events, vendors, food trucks, live performances, and of course Victorian-inspired steampunk costumes.
Organizers said this year they hope to improve engagement with new classes.
Attendees said it’s a one-of-a-kind weekend to shop and meet new people.
“We’ve been doing steampunk here for about five years, and we love dressing up, doing the cosplay, and like all the events, we love to see the performers, check out the vendors, just have a good time,” festival attendee Sandy Whitecamp said.
The festival continues through Monday.
