Hannibal attractions win awards for ‘Best of the River’

Several Hannibal attractions are being honored with awards from River Travel Magazine’s 2019 ‘Best of the River’ competition.

Recipients include the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum for best historic home, as well second place awards for the museum’s summer concert series and historic site. Officials with the museum said recognition like this helps keep their attractions in the minds of travelers exploring the Mississippi.

“A lot of people are going to be learning more about Hannibal and what our town has to offer. Not only our beautiful boyhood home here but the other things that have also been recognized, our parks and other locations,” said Melissa Cummins, Marketing and Community Relations Manager for the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum.

The competition focuses on attractions on the Mississippi River. Hannibal’s attractions were nominated for the competition then voted on after finalists were chosen.
