The town of Rushville is gearing up for its annual Smiles Day celebration.
This year marks the 100th year of the celebration, meant to honor veterans who serve and return to Rushville.
The Rushville mayor said the festival includes food vendors, kids activities, a parade and contests.
He said this year’s celebration will be a unique one.
“We’re going to have the Vietnam war memorial wall here,” Rushville Mayor Carson Klitz said. “It’s going to come in on Thursday or Friday before Smiles day. We’re setting it up out at the cemetery where the memorial is. Hopefully it will draw a lot of people to our town.”
Smiles Day kicks off Friday, September 20 in Central Park with a veteran ceremony at 10 a.m.
