The reining Class 1A State Champs from Quincy Notre Dame continue to put the work in on the prep soccer turf even after posting their first shutout win of the season on Monday.

That’s just the way Raiders long time head coach Greg Reis molds young squads with potential into state title contenders.

QND posted a 4-0 win over Alton-Marquette at Illinois College yesterday, but that’s now history for senior goalkeeper Griffin Kirn and the Raiders.

The (3-3) squad was working hard on the pitch earlier today, despite the heat and humidity, trying to fine tune a few area’s of concern for the QND coaching staff.

Head Coach Greg Reis continues to guide this team with a clear focus and attention to detail as the “Blue & Gold” prepare for their next game that’s now less than 48 hours away.

“Thursday’s game is going to be a good test for us.”

Coach Reis went on to add, “Springfield High I think is undefeated at this point, they play Chatham tonight, so hopefully we get a decent scouting report from that.”
