Two taken to Blessing after Highway 96 pileup

ADAMS COUNTY, Il. A four-car pileup sent two people to Blessing Hospital and shut down Highway 96 Sunday evening.

According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, it happened about a mile north of the Highway 24 junction around 7:49 p.m.

Quincy resident Karen Seals crossed the center line and hit a car carrying Hannibal residents Kenneth and Amy Caldwell.

Two other cars crashed trying to avoid the collision.

Both Seals and Amy Caldwell were taken to Blessing with minor injuries.

Seals was arrested and charged with failure to reduce speed and avoid an accident.

Deputies shut down the highway for almost two hours while they cleared the scene.
