*Flash Flood Watch for parts of the area Saturday evening through Sunday*
For a list of active weather alerts, click here.
Today is the final day of this stretch of heat and humidity before we get cooler temperatures working in this weekend. Sunny to partly cloudy today with isolated showers and thunderstorms developing this afternoon and evening. Organized severe weather is not expected.
Highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s today and lows back in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Tonight we will see some increase in cloud coverage and more scattered showers and storms overnight into Saturday.
The trade off with the cooler weather in the 70s this weekend is that we will have a considerable amount of rain moving into the Tri-States from the remnants of Tropical depression Imelda. Thunderstorms will be likely Saturday through Sunday with possible heavy rain Saturday night into Sunday. 2-3 inches with locally higher amounts of rain expected. A flash flood watch is in effect.
We will see clearing conditions Sunday and and lots of sunshine as we welcome in fall on Monday with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Mid 70s to around 80s taking us through next week with more showers and storms returning to the forecast by then.
