Troy police arrest Hannibal burglary suspects following pursuit

HANNIBAL (WGEM) — Two Hannibal burglary suspects were apprehended in St. Louis following a vehicle chase on Saturday, police say.

Lieutenant J.M. Grote of the Hannibal Police Department reported that Samuel Simpson, 38, and D’Vion Harris, 35, both of St. Louis were taken into custody following a pursuit by the Troy, Missouri, Police Department.

Grote stated that earlier on Saturday Hannibal officers were called to a business alarm at Wireless Express located on Diamond Blvd. Officers found the business had been broken into and multiple items were missing.

Surrounding agencies were notified of the burglary in Hannibal and approximately one hour later the Troy Police Department reported that they were in pursuit of the suspects from the Hannibal burglary.

Grote reported that tire deflation devices were utilized and the pursuit ended in Lake. St. Louis.

The report states items from the Hannibal burglary were recovered from the vehicle.

Grote stated that warrants for Simpson and Harris were issued by the Circuit Court of Marion County. Simpson and Harris were both charged with Burglary Second Degree, Stealing, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Property Damage.

Their bond was set at $50,000 cash only.

They are currently housed in the Lincoln County Jail.
