Over a dozen high school marching bands took to Porter Stadium in Hannibal Tuesday evening to showcase their skills.
12 schools performed field shows at Hannibal High School.
It’s all part of Hannibal Band Day. It’s the 71st year for the event.
Organizers said unlike other band events, this is not a competition but the schools still receive feedback on their performances.
“This is their favorite event really of the season because it’s low key. It’s music for the sake of music. Everybody gets to go show their stuff. It’s kind of show & tell for band really,” said Hannibal Band Days Coordinator Debbie Higbee Roberts.
Over thirty bands participated in a parade down Broadway in Hannibal as part of the festival as well.
