Cloudy skies with periods of rain are expected this morning and early afternoon with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s to near 70F. Winds out of the southeast around 10 to 15 mph.

We are watching for more thunderstorms developing this afternoon into evening. A few of these storms could be locally strong to severe. This means storms could produce large hail, strong winds, and possibly a few tornadoes. However, the severe threat looks to be somewhat limited today due to the morning rain, so we are forecasting a LOW severe risk for now.

Rain showers will persist into the overnight and early morning hours as a cold front pushes in from the northwest. This front will bring much cooler temperatures to the Tri-States with breezy conditions. Temps will fall throughout the day Friday from the mid to upper 50s early in the morning to around 45F by 5 pm.

Mostly clear conditions by Friday evening with breezy conditions…very cold, with temperatures in the low to mid 30s across the Tri-States. Some areas may see near freezing conditions, and a Freeze Watch is up for parts of the region for early Saturday AM.

Clear conditions over the weekend with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Dry weather takes us into next week.
