Thousands came out to get a taste of how people lived in the past at the 43rd annual Folklife Festival in Hannibal Saturday.
The festival features vendors, craftspeople, artists, demonstrations, food, and more as part of their 1800’s themed festivities and exhibitors.
Blacksmiths were of the new exhibitors this year.
They said they’re working to keep the tradition alive.
“A blacksmith was very important, and a hundred years ago a community survived by the work of a blacksmith,” said Sherman Kiefaber, talking about how it’s fun to show people how blacksmithing works.
The event is organized by the Hannibal Arts Council.
The festival continues tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m..
