Hannibal juvenile arrested following multiple break-ins at school

HANNIBAL (WGEM) — Hannibal Police say they arrested a juvenile suspect on Thursday for burglary at Oakwood Elementary School.

Lieutenant J.M. Grote reported that detectives assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad and the School Resource Officers had been periodically conducting surveillance over the last couple of weeks due to the school being victimized by a series of break-ins.

Grote states that officers were able to receive consent to search of the juvenile’s residence where they found and seized into evidence several items believed to be stolen from the school.

The juvenile is being held at a juvenile detention facility in Columbia, Missouri.
