Herbal Remedies in Quincy is working to expand their services in order to serve the adult recreational market come January 1, 2020.
Officials with Herbal Remedies say their application to serve as a dual site facility, meaning a facility for medical and another facility for recreational, has been submitted to the state. Owners are still waiting on a response.
“In the regulations it says 14 days, but we are well past the 14 days,” said Herbal Remedies Co-Owner Chris Wildrick.
However, Wildrick says they’re continuing with renovations to the building directly next to their medical marijuana dispensary, hoping come January 1 they’ll have enough supply to meet the demands of the adult market.
“Cultivators in Illinois are working very diligently at their expansions and putting more plants in the ground,” said Wildrick. “So, time will tell.”
Wildrick says they’re also planning on opening up an additional adult use cannabis shop in town, but are unsure on a location.
