A replica of the Vietnam memorial wall is in LaGrange, Missouri this weekend, providing an opportunity to honor those who gave their lives in the war.
Organizers said the mission of the traveling replica is to give people a chance to honor, respect, and remember those who served in Vietnam without having to travel to D.C.
The replica is a 80% scale version of the wall which is provided by the American Veterans Traveling Tribute.
Veterans said it’s good to see the support Vietnam veterans get now.
“Back in the day of Vietnam the veterans were disgraced when they came home, and people wouldn’t acknowledge them hardly, but today it’s different,” said Vietnam Veteran Francis Richmon.
Organizers said the wall will be in the parking lot of the Mark Twain Casino in LaGrange until 3 p.m. this Sunday.
