Second Celebration of Education Sculpture installed at Quincy school

QUINCY (WGEM) — The second sculpture in the Celebration of Education Sculpture Series was revealed Monday.

The sculpture was installed at Denman Elementary and is called Taking Flight, by artist Fritz Olsen.

It was designed and installed in partnership with Arts Quincy and the Moorman Foundation.

The sculptor said he hopes its something that will spark curiosity and inspiration among students..

“As they live with one another and grow up they have something that is a binder and something to react to, its usually a very positive thing,”  said Sculptor Fritz Olsen.

Arts Quincy officials said the next sculpture, set to go-in at Baldwin School, will be revealed soon.
