Hannibal Football Prepares for St. Dominic District Semifinal Challenge

Week two of post-season football in the show me state will feature the 6-4 pirates of Hannibal playing host to the 7-3 Crusaders of St. Dominic this football Friday night.

First year head coach Quentin Hamner has led his team to a big turnaround in 2019.

Since starting the year 0-3 the Pirates have won six of their last seven games.

Even in the midst of that slow start, the Pirates never hit the panic button and knew all the issues that they saw on film could be overcome.

As they head into the district semifinals, the Pirates know they just have to keep embracing the mantra that’s gotten them here.

Senior linebacker Kadin Morgan said, “Every week we just work to get a little bit better.

We go by a motto of every day we get one percent better and I truly believe we are getting one percent better every day.

Going into this week I think we just got to execute. We can’t have the little mistakes.

We got to eliminate penalties and just the small stuff. Like coach said the only team that can beat us is ourselves.”
