Pike County Sheriff seeks help identifying armed robbery subject

BARRY, IL (WGEM) — The Pike County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a subject that is wanted for questioning related to an armed robbery which occurred in Barry, Illinois.

Pike County Deputy Zachary Orr reported that during the early morning hours of October 16, a masked male subject entered Jiffi Stop in Barry, Illinois, displayed a handgun, demanded money, cigarettes, and lottery tickets.

The surveillance video from Barry Jiffi Stop shows a subject dressed in black wearing a black mask and gloves.

Orr stated upon investigation, it was discovered the suspect parked his vehicle across the street from Jiffi Stop in a car wash bay.  Unbeknownst to the suspect, there are surveillance cameras in the car wash bay.

Sheriff’s Deputies were able to obtain photographs from the surveillance video which shows the suspect’s face and vehicle.

Orr stated the vehicle has been identified as a 2008, 2009, or 2010 silver Honda Accord.  The vehicle does not have a front license plate.  The vehicle has a sunroof and all windows are tinted.  The vehicle appears to have extensive hail damage to the trunk area.

Sheriff’s Deputies contacted the Illinois State Lottery and discovered the suspect had scanned the stolen lottery tickets in the following places.
