The District hopes to keep up momentum into the new year

Officials in The District want to keep momentum going after 16 new businesses opened up downtown just within the last year.

At Wednesday’s open house, officials talked with business and property owners about the downtown and available opportunities.

The open house was held at Electric Fountain Brewing and The District Executive Director Bruce Guthrie says that’s a perfect example of how a person can rehab an old downtown building.

“We’re working hard everyday to continue to work with property owners/building owners to give them opportunities where they can rehab these buildings and turn them into something that’s beautiful,” said Guthrie.

Guthrie says they plan on holding another open house in the spring.
