MoDOT crews said their crews and equipment are now ready for winter weather after doing their winter drill Thursday.

MoDOT officials said thousands of employees across the state took part in drills Thursday, including those here in the Tri-States.

Crews in Northeast Missouri said they drove the routes, and made sure plowing equipment is in 100% working order.

“We’re hooking up the tow plow today to make sure it’s all operational, it’s been sitting all summer, so we’re wanting to make sure it’s in good condition and all the lights, safety devices are working,” said MoDOT Lewis County Maintenance Supervisor Robert Deters

Crews said while this helps everyone get into gear for battling winter weather, one of the most important aspects is making sure new employees know what to expect when winter weather strikes.
