Waking up to temperatures well below average again this morning. We’re starting off in the teens to near 20 degrees. The good news is though, the winds are light so wind chill values aren’t really concern this morning. Nevertheless, it’s still very cold out side to be sure to grab your jacket and gloves. We will have plenty of sunshine later today thanks to a near by high pressure system, but it won’t really help the temperatures warm up too much. Highs to day will be in the mid to upper 30s. Clear skies will continue into tonight with lows in the mid to upper 20s. The high pressure system moves east tonight, southern winds will return to the Tri-States. That will help temperatures to get closer to average for this time of year. Saturday and Sunday, highs will be in the 50s. A strong cold front move move through the area Sunday evening/night. This front will bring us the chance of precipitation Sunday night into Monday morning. The precipitation will start off as rain, then transition to a rain/snow mix and then light snow will be possible. Models are still figuring out the details though on this system. A slight change in temperatures and/or dry air could alter this forecast.
