If you a trip through downtown Mount Sterling, you’ll see that it looks a lot different.
Mount Sterling mayor Matthew Bradbury said the downtown revitalization project is almost done.
He said the concrete work is done and most of the lighting work is done.
He said the project aims to make the downtown more accessible and attractive.
“I think with a positive attitude when you come in, you have an inclination to stop at the local businesses and peruse on through, and then also on top of that, it will hopefully jump start people who want to open a business in Mt. Sterling, to be able to do that,” Bradbury said.
Along with state grants, the city is using $800,000 in bonds to foot the bill.
Bradbury said crews should have no problem meeting the December 12 deadline.
