Benefit to raise money to hire private investigator to search for missing woman

A Tri-State mother continues her search for her missing daughter. Christina Whittaker has been missing for over ten years now. Her mother is holding a fundraiser this weekend.

The 10-year anniversary of when she went missing was November 13. Christina’s mom, Cindy Young, is using the money from the fundraiser to hire a new private investigator.

Young and the rest of the family spent Friday evening setting up the fundraiser.

It will take place Saturday at the American Legion Hall in Hannibal and will feature an auction.

Young said communities throughout the Tri-States have donated things for the benefit.  She said the support has been overwhelming.

“I just really want to thank everybody who’s come together. I’ve cried so much this week, I think I’m about cried out. Probably not, I’ll probably find more tears. It’s just been so overwhelming for me how everyone has come together for my baby, for Christina,” said Young.

The benefit starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 8 p.m.

It will also feature several speakers to raise awareness on missing children.

Police said they’re still looking for any information that could lead them in the right direction. They said if you know anything to contact them, even if you want to stay anonymous, at (573) 221-0987 or online here.
