‘Girls Night Out’ benefits Hannibal buddy pack program

Women in Hannibal are raising money for kids in need.

Thursday night, the Hannibal Alliance for Youth Success or HAYS held its annual ‘Girls Night Out’ event at the Rialto.

People who attended enjoyed food, drinks and shopped from local vendors.

The event raises money for the organization’s Buddy Pack program which ensures kids have food on weekends.

“We know they get food during school but we don’t know what happens with kids when they leave to go home on Friday afternoons. So we want to make sure they are getting some nutrition over the weekend until we can get them back into school,” said HAYS president Stephanie Cooper.

Officials said this is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the buddy pack program.
