QUINCY, Il. – With some help from Santa and Buddy the Elf, Quincy celebrated the start of the holiday season Saturday night at the Light the Park ceremony in Washington Park
Those at the ceremony got to see the lights go on for the very first time this season.
One parent said this is a special night she gets to spend with her children.
“I think that the Christmas lights represent a peace,” said mother Jessica Foster. “So, for them to see it, you can see the Christmas spirit in their eyes and for me that just makes Christmas that much more special.”
Organizers said for those who didn’t get to see Santa Saturday night, he’ll be in Washington Park every Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m..
