Dozens of people gathered at O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home Sunday afternoon to remember loved ones who passed away during the course of the year.

The life celebration home held a candlelight memorial for those who have lost a loved one this past year.

The ceremony included live music, a candlelight service with reverends from Blessed Sacrament Church in Quincy.

Organizers said it's important to come together and celebrate lost ones, especially during the holiday season.

"In our hustle bustle society, I think taking just a few moments to slow down really does help us heal, "Life Celebration Funeral Home director Jimmy O'Donnell said. "We can share a few of those stories then maybe we can bring a smile to someones face and maybe if there's a smile there's a few more stories that helps put families on the healing path."

Organizers said this was also a chance for the celebration home to show off some new renovations including a number of new projectors.
