HANNIBAL (WGEM) — Lieutenant Jacob Nacke reported the arrest of two Hannibal residents as the result of an ongoing series of investigations by the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES) into the distribution of narcotics.
Nacke reported on Monday that police arrested Anthony Essig, 41, and Lisa Scheibel, 47, both of Hannibal.
Nacke stated officers received consent to search a residence in the 2000 block of Chestnut on Saturday where they found Essig hiding in a shower.
Essig had a warrant for the distribution of methamphetamine by the Associate Circuit Court of Marion County with bond set at $50,000.
Nacke stated Essig was taken into custody on the warrant and was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Scheibel was also arrested at the residence for hindering prosecution, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Nacke stated Essig remains in the Marion County Jail, while Scheibel was released pending review by the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney.
