All the toys have been donated and now it's time for families to come and pick them up for their little ones at home.
Toys for Tots had their boxes at local retailers for about a months time. Those boxes have been collected and sorted with Friday and Saturday serving as distribution days.
Parents, who have already been through an eligibility screening, are able to walk away with toys, books and games for their child.
"For a lot of families, Christmas adds up fast; there's daycare costs, there's bills," said Toys for Tots Volunteer Jessica Humke. "Even if you have a job it doesn't necessarily mean that you're making enough that Christmas isn't going to take a hit. This is their chance to come and make that Christmas magic happen. "
Distribution continues Saturday morning at 9 am at the old Motorola building in Quincy, near 36th and Locust. Organizers say volunteers are needed, especially in the morning.
