The storm and freezing rain exited the area Friday night. However, we could be feeling the effects of the ice for quite a few days. While the temps overnight Friday night and first thing Saturday morning were perfect for ice melt to work. This will not be the case Saturday night, Sunday, Sunday night, Monday and Monday night with frigid temps in the single digits for morning lows and teens for daytime highs. The salt just does not work that well at those temps. So, if you have untreated sidewalks, driveways and even side roads they will remain very slick through most of next week. Couple that with a potential bit of light snow on Saturday and sidewalks will be dangerously slick. Be safe and be careful.
