A student group from Quincy University was front and center at that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.

Vice president of Q-U's Black Student Union CJ Cunningham, along with two other members, spoke about what the group stands for. They said they work to provide a black community for students on campus, while also educating students about black culture.

"Our main purpose for Black Student Union is to provide a black community for our black students on campus, especially non-athletic black students. There's not a lot of community offered from the school or administrators and things like that, so it's kind of on the students," said Cunningham.

He said stop by and see them on campus if you want to get involved. He said they have a number of events coming up.
