After a bit light snow and flurries in the area on Monday we will have more wintry weather beginning late Wednesday. High pressure will anchor itself to our east and that will open up the window for a prolonged period of wintry weather. As opposed to a quick moving storm system that comes and goes this weather pattern will have several waves of rain and snow mixed possible. Because this type of pattern does not have a real strong and identifiable area of low pressure it will be difficult to pin down the timing of the potential snow and rain mix. So, at this time plan on periods of rain and snow Wednesday late in the day through Saturday morning. There could be accumulating snow in the Wednesday through Saturday morning time frame. I guess the good news is the single digit frigid air retreats on Tuesday.
