HANNIBAL (WGEM) — Hannibal Police reported that two men have been cited after crashing into the Prestige Realty building and fleeing the scene Tuesday morning.
Lieutenant J.M. Grote stated that early Tuesday morning officers responded to an alarm at 8 Diamond Boulevard and discovered that a vehicle had struck the building causing damage. The vehicle was gone from the scene when officers arrived.
Grote stated that officers were able to locate the vehicle at a residence just outside of the city limits.
Lisa Ball, Broker at Prestige Realty, said she's just glad her employees are okay.
"We're getting bids on the repairs, gotta repair some desks that the car hit, and of course the window and the facade of the building, and we're thankful it's almost spring because it's going to be chilly in here for a few days," laughed Ball.
Officers arrested the driver, James Astorino, 23, and the passenger, Thomas Rodgers, 23, both of Hannibal.
Grote stated that Astorino was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident. Rodgers was issued a citation for interfering with an investigation.
Officers were assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
