Braving sub-zero wind chills to have fun in the snow

Many braved the sub-zero windchills to play in the snow at South Park in Quincy.

Many went sledding with a few snowboarders mixed in. One mom said she wasn't missing out even though her kids chose to stay home. She said this was a treat after running her errands this morning.

"I go down the hill, of course, to get to the creek, cross the creek, climb up the big hill, go down the big hill and then I check out "dead man's hill" and go up "dead man's hill"," said Penny Lock, sledder. "I sat up there for a while because you've got to rest at that top before you go down, mentally prepare for the rollout."

Others were students who were enjoying a snow day with their school being closed.

"We had a lot of fun actually," said Hunter Jones, sledder. "There was a big drop down there, we did that a bunch of times. Probably a couple of hours out there. Just had a good time."

The type and amount of snow we received is perfect for sledding. If you want to go, don't wait or you'll miss out. Temperatures will be warming up into the 40s by this weekend.
