A plan to plant dozens of trees in an unused area in Hannibal is moving forward.
Hannibal's Tree Board President Kristy Trevathan said BASF has backed their plan to plant around 70 Bald Cypress Trees in an area near south Main and Washington Street.
Trevathan said that type of tree is good for this area and they're hopeful this green space will be used by residents.
"When the river comes up, this area is not protected by the flood wall but yet this is a green space that can be utilized most of the year," she said.
Trevathan is hopeful the trees will be planted soon because conditions are good for doing that right now.
